Frank Wermuth, my art
I am the third of nine children born in Kensington, a blue collar catholic neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pa. It seemed at the time that I was the only artist, someone with a natural talent for drawing for thousands of miles in the sports driven area. I became the go to person for everything from window display (hand painting windows for holidays and sporting events) to hand painted t-shirts of David Bowie, Elton John and Jethro Tull. I attended Hussian School of Art in the eighties, not the best choice, it being primarily a design and illustration school but I was a bit lazy when it came to changing directions back then. I did learn a great deal about design, Art History and met many great people. I realized during this time that I am and always will be a painter of a subjective observation of my own reality. I paint what I think I see, primarily on canvas. Acrylic paint is my go to medium. Let me know what you think. Have a nice day... if you feel like it.
